Personally, I’ve enjoyed the synopsis of the chatter on the list! I’ve felt it’s allowed me to keep in touch with what’s been going on while getting on with my real work

So thanks for the work you’ve done so far, and if you never get around to restarting these summaries, thanks for this start and hopefully someone else will take up the banner!

Awesome stuff! Any idea how what we can use in the meanteam for 4.5/4.6 to speed up compiling large projects? Dedoose is a flex beast, and HCFD was freaking amazing, but never got updated past 4.1

I’ve implemented the behavior patterns of microsoft in a major enterprise Flex project recently.

I can tell you it works really nicely. Therefor may I suggest that you take a look at this.

Particularly the onAttach and onDetach methods.

We assign the behaviors either in the declaration tag (DeclarativeBehavior) or next to the tag (VisualBehavior).

Ideally you’d want to do it like in XAML. Where you’d have a tag for ui components. But using the declarations tag has been very good too. Just less inline.

I am a strong believer that composition wins over inheritance. Particularly for large scale enterprise development, where many UI components are augmented and used in various ways.

This has been very successful for us – I’m no MSFT fan boy, but thanks Microsoft for showing us the way.

Ah, yes I mean RSL’s. In the 4.6 SDK I see a lot of swf/swz files. I take it my applications will compile a lot faster with those instead of compiling the raw code. I’m interested in learning how to compile the Apache Flex SDK into these RSL’s.
